Cable was out when we checked in and didn't get repaired until the next day. The service man when he came was very nice. One of the beds was broken. You literally slid onto the floor when you sit on it. We were put in a room that was very unsafe for people with any agility challenges. The stairway down to our room was horrifying. I have read the other reviews on the beach access. For my family it is inaccessible and I am unwilling to risk a broken hip going back down the stairs of this place or trying to get to the beach.

This used to be an amazing place, but in late 2023. It was acquired from the owners who had preserved its unique charm and beauty and is now owned by individuals who are clearly just trying to wring it for money before they tear it down. Not only are they drastically raising prices far beyond the inflation rates, but after years of creating close relationships with return visitors who have their favorite places, they are now destroying all of those ties. No longer can you reserve a specific room, and they told me that they wont ever do it again, and they now reserve the right to move your room without your consent, even if you are currently in it. Don't give your money to people who destroy communities for a quick buck. Go next door to the Inn at Spanish Head.

BED BUGS in room 230 !!! We got there in the evening on Thanksgiving, ready to crash before driving home the following day. In the morning we discovered blood spots on pillow cases...upon closer inspection we found several adult bugs and visible nymphs full of blood. They refunded our money and gave us black trash bags to put all our belongings into. Great view and cute dog potty park, but we'll never be back.

My wife and I have been going to the Ester Lee almost every year for our anniversary. Our honeymoon was at this motel in 1995. We'll to start? I called and got voice-mail 3 different times over a week with no return call. So I made reservations on Expedia. We really wanted a room known as the crows nest. Best view in the place. We couldn't select a room on Expedia, so I booked a cottage with a kitchen. We checked in, and the gal at the desk was new but super polite. She was able to switch our room to the crows nest. We had 3 nights booked. The only real disappointment was that the natural gas fireplace didn't work. The gas line was hanging and wires Were hanging all over. They had a special advertised that if you added a night, it would be $69. But it had to be in the same room you stayed? Wierd. The man at the counter today had the personality of a fence post. Short, blunt, and rude. The place is in an amazing location and they are letting it go to hell in a hand basket. I'm afraid after 28 years of staying here? This was our last.

First time in 10 years my partner were able to take a vacation. We decided to try Esther Lee Motel. We are so very sorry that we did. An unhoused person was sleeping right next to our room. Two strange males approached us in the parking lot ..they were not guests. Asked for housekeeping services. Denied. They do not do "that" even though posted in the room they do. Very loud staff at 8 am in the morning. Front desk calling at 9 am. Called the front desk and spoke with Chris. He is most condescending person. He kept calling me Love. Yelled at me to read the instructions about services they provide or do NOT provide. Misrepresented the path down to the beach. It was over a thousand dollars for our stay. So very disappointing. We will NEVER stay here again. Beware.
